Congratulations are in order for Brandon Horvath of Naugatuck Veterinary Hospital who is our Employee of the Month for February! Brandon was nominated by his Practice Manager, Jenn Ayers. Jenn writes: “Brandon came to Naugatuck from the high school across the street for a part-time kennel position after school. He has been with us for about two years and in this time, we have witnessed the most wonderful growth and transformation. Starting with part-time cleaning responsibilities, Brandon has taken it upon himself to learn, grow and absorb all that goes on around him every day in the hospital. He is always “present” and willing to do anything we need help with. Our favorite phrase around here is “get Brandon, he can help…” or “Brandon knows where that is…” He is very calm and patient with the dogs who come in for nail trims, and the clients are asking for Brandon by name. Recently, as we embrace the Fear Free Philosophy as a team, Brandon placed a portable ICALM classical music device in the kennel near a VERY scared dog who was in for treatment. The dog settled and did amazingly well, thanks to Brandon’s thoughtfulness. Brandon now works full-time and in addition to his cleaning and maintenance responsibilities, he removes catheters, cleans surgical instruments, helps the surgery techs with prep and recovery. He also now has his own column in the scheduler for “Brandon Nail Trims.” Brandon goes to school full-time, has earned his Veterinary Assistant Degree and is on his way to his ultimate goal of being a technician. He’s been promoted to Veterinary Assistant and we want to publically thank Brandon for all he does for our patients and clients.”
WOW! Does it get any better than that?! Great job, Brandon! It’s people like you who make all the difference. Congratulations!
