Jerald L. Pullins is a former President and CEO of Service Corporation International, a multinational public company. Jerry brings a wealth of experience and knowledge in regard to all aspects of the multi-site service business sector. He joined Pet Partners in 2007, and has provided valuable insight and guidance as the company grows and differentiates itself from other veterinary hospital acquisition companies.
“At Pet Partners, we truly act as a partner with our veterinarians. We rely on our local partners to make most of the decisions about medicine, and we don’t rebrand the practice. Instead, we retain the local flavor and culture,” said Pullins. “We get calls frequently from veterinarians, telling us that other companies don’t have this approach, and they want to work with us because we’re very user friendly to our local management partners and their local communities.”
Pullins received his MS in Business Administration from the University of Kansas and his MBA from the University of Texas. After beginning his career with Arthur Young and Company in Kansas City, he has held executive positions with both Merrill Lynch Realty and Service Corporation International.
In addition to his public company experience, Pullins was the founder, President and CEO of both The Sentinel Group, Inc., a $100 million consolidator in the funeral and cemetery business and Voyager HospiceCare, Inc., an $80 million regional consolidator of hospice care centers located in the Midwest. He currently serves on the Board of Directors of US Physical Therapy, a public (NASDAQ: USPH) company involved in the acquisition and development of outpatient physical therapy clinics in 33 states.
His chief areas of expertise and interest include the conceptual development and execution of strategies for growth and development of business in fragmented service industries which are subject to, or are undergoing, consolidation and rapid growth. Pullins has served in a variety of progressively diversified financial and management leadership roles in his career and oversees strategic development and compliance for Pet Partners, while providing operational insight and direction as Chairman of the Board.
